With 20km of thrilling trails winding through beautiful gum trees, this volunteer-built park packs a serious punch for all riders — from kids on their first descent to seasoned adrenaline junkies. Choose from 14 trails across Grades Easy, Intermediate and Advanced, including the must-ride “Roller Coaster” — a fast, flowing, grin-inducing blast that has riders coming back for more!

Easy access via Mt Herbert Road, roadside parking, and free entry (donations welcome) make it easy to get rolling. Riders rave about the park’s variety, smooth climbs, and epic downhill loops. Whether you’re chasing jumps, flowy lines, or a perfect family day out, Gum Tree Park is your ticket to ride.

River Trails and the Limestone:

The river trails run East and West of Waipukurau and offer a range of rides from easy to more difficult rides. The Limestone rides go in both directions and are easy and include a stream-crossing at Black Creek. There are river berm trails running off all of the limestone and provide interesting and challenging rides. The trains can be seen here on this plan (see below) which is also on display at Russell Park in Waipukurau.

This is the entrance to the Gum Tree Farm Mountain Bike Park - on Mount Herbert Road.  Car parking is here too - no motor vehicles beyond the gate.
